Course Overview
This course is designed to give learners an understanding of the Code of Practice on the Right to Disconnect & to gain an understanding of the responsibilities of management outlined in this code. Learners will also develop an understanding of the requirements of a Right to Disconnect Policy.

Duration of courses can be adapted to suit your business needs.

  • Purpose of the Code
  • Relevant Legislation

EMPLOYER OBLIGATIONS

  • Providing information to employees of what their normal working hours are reasonably expected to be.
  • Ensuring that employees take rest periods.
  • Ensuring a safe workplace, including reviewing their risk assessment and, where necessary their safety statement.
  • Not penalising an employee for acting in compliance with any relevant provision or performing any duty or exercising any right. 

EMPLOYEE OBLIGATIONS 

  • Ensuring that they manage their own working time in so much that they can.
  • Taking reasonable care to protect their safety, health and welfare and the health and that of co-workers. 
  • Cooperating fully to record working time including when working remotely. 
  • Being mindful of their colleagues’, customers’/clients’ and all other people’s right to disconnect. 
  • Notifying the employer of any rest break to which they are entitled to and were not able to avail of.
  • Being conscious of their work pattern and aware of their work-related wellbeing and taking remedial action if necessary.
