This course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the role of the Designated Function in regard to Whistleblowing, provide an increased understanding of how to manage Protected Disclosures in the capacity of the Designated Function and how to take the practical steps to identify if the disclosure meets the criteria under the Company Whistleblowing Policy
Learners will gain practical steps that need to be taken to ensure compliance with the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 which provides for a framework of statutory protections for whistleblowers in Ireland. The Act has been substantially overhauled by the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022, which was signed into law in July. The new legislation came into operation on 1 January 2023.
